The purpose of this document is to update the community about the working, decisions and status of FAmSCo. This is also to summarise the activities around the world and to request feedback and suggestions from the community.

About

This section gives some quick health indicators about how much FAmSCo is communicating. Sometimes FAmSCo members can't make a meeting due to travel or conflict, but the combination of meeting attendance plus email is a nice metric.

1.1. Meetings

FAmSCo held 3 meetings in May. Attendance was as follows:
  • 3 out of 3 -- Joerg, Susmit, Maria, David
  • 2 out of 3 -- Max
  • 1 out of 3 -- Luca
  • 0 out of 3 -- Luca
So far this year, FAmSCo has held 17 meetings. Overall attendance has been:

1.2. Regional Meetings

One of FAmSCo's goals this year is to make sure that at least one FAmSCo member is at each regional meeting that is held. As of the time this report was prepared, 6 regional meetings held in April had been logged.
  • NA -- 2 meeting, both attended by David and 1 attended by Max.
  • EMEA -- 2 meetings, 1 attended by Joerg.
  • APAC -- 2 meeting, no FAmSCo members in attendance.
  • LATAM -- 0 meeting

1.3. FAmSCo Mailing List

FAmSCo's mailing list received 32 messages this month, which was a pretty light month. We need to have more discussion on the mailing list.

This section discusses the non-regional achievements within either FAmSCo or the larger Ambassadors project from this month.
  • Call for Action F13 Release Events
  • AGREED: to have team-lunch as prize for every F13 Release Event Team with an detailed Event Report
  • FAmSCo members collect regional input for special Ambassador topics for future Release Schedules

By an impulse from FAD-NA - work has started to make the "joining/mentoring Process" more a step-by-step expirience for the Candidates, therefore Ambassadors_Join_start has been set up. Lead is Clint Savage.

  • Juan Carlos Lin and Lorsy Julio Joins the Ambassadors group
  • Fudcon Santiago de Chile is in planning stage.
  • Fedora CentralAmerica Tour starts.
  • RPMDEV had their monthly meeting
  • RPMDEV team activate our local test repo with some packages build locally, this will be an incubator to test and sponsor some of this new apps.
  • Translations, artwork and marketing for F13 was made by latam ambassadors team, to show F13 in our local language.
